Misfortunate Travelers by Chris Ryniak / Jonathan Bergeron
The "Misfortunate Travelers" statue was produced for Yves Laroche Galerie
d'Art in Montreal, to debut at the "Gardens of Misfortune" two-man show with
Chris Ryniak and Jonathan Bergeron.Standing just over 7" tall and cast in resin,
the statue features a base created by Bergeron with a small creature resting
on top created by Ryniak. The statue was digitally sculpted by Bigshot's Scott
Wetterschneider from a sketch by the two artists, and produced by Bigshot
Toyworks.
An edition of 100 pieces in a bronze colorway were created as an exclusive forYves Laroche, and are only available at retail from the gallery. This final black
colorway is an edition of 150 pieces and is the only edition that will ever be
offered to retailers or other galleries.
(Due to a factory error, the additional bronze statues were never produced and
only black will be available outside of the Yves Laroche Galerie d'Art in Montreal.)
